As we know, Samantha Powers has resigned her position in the Obama campaign for inappropriate remarks she made to a reporter. The campaign has repudiated her statement and accepted her resignation. This is the correct way to respond, with class.
Howard Wolfson, a Clinton campaign advisor, made derogatory remarks about Senator Obama and Ken Starr. When asked about them, how did she reply?
"I am very focused on this campaign and you know, you’ve made the comparison between those two," she said. When a reporter pointed out that her spokesman actually made the comparison she said, "Well, I think that one is and ad hominem attack and the other is a historical reference."
The reporter countered, "But he said that 'I don’t know how anyone who can imitate Ken Starr can win the Democratic presidential nomination.'"
"Well, I think that is a true statement," Clinton responded.
So had Powers compared her to an infamous historical figure, according to Clinton campaign logic, that would have been ok. And she not only fails to repudiate Wolfson's attack, she actually embraces it.
Would some Senator Clinton supporters step in here and explain this to the rest of us?
