Ok folks....this is it. Neither Obama nor Clinton can become the Democratic nominee without the superdelegates. The only way Barack Obama can convince the supers to hand it over to him is to win one of the final big three--PA, MI, FL.
But if Senator Obama does not win one of those final three he will have to take the nomination through the back door. He will be seen as illegimate by the Clinton supporters. So if he doesn't close the deal by winning one of those three states what to do?
THE DEAL
Donna Brazile, supedelegate and DNC official has been "neutral" in this race with a slight tilt to Obama. The former campaign manager of Al Gore in 2000, wields a lot of influence at the DNC and has remained close to Al Gore.
I know what I see developing if there is a stalemate:
He will not cede the nomination to her and she will not cede the nomination to him. But he will have more power than her because he will have more delegates. Obama will move to have Al Gore become the Democratic Presidential Nominee and Obama will become his vice presidential running mate.
Gore has kept his silence throughout the Democratic nominating season. But his name will surely surface as his party ponders the possibility that they will not have a nominee by the time the convention rolls around—especially since John McCain enjoys a huge head start in launching his general-election campaign.

Al Gore is the only person in the Democratic Party who could credibly be handed the nomination without anyone in either party raising a peep. He was robbed in 2000 and this is a form of redemption. Plus we get Barack Obama and avoid the nightmare of Hillary Clinton. We run a pure anti-Iraq war ticket. The New Progressive Al Gore and the heroic Barack Obama who took down 16 years of Clintonism and triangulation.
What do you think? I know we still want him to be the nominee but this is the second best scenario.
