Damn right.
Why should he?
He has won more pledged delegates.
Ahead in the popular vote.
Won TEXAS, yes he did.
He raised more money. Remember, many of these SD's (superdelegates) are up for re-election want to stand by someone who can raise money anywhere in the United States. From the reddest of red states to the bluest of blue states.
The only candidate running a strategic 50 State Strategy.
And, Barack Obama has played by the RULES.
In Wyoming yesterday, Barack Obama made it clear that he is not going to be anyone's Vice-Presidential candidate.
Q: You’ve raised $55 million in February and in your speech today you said "I was against the war in ’03, ’04, ’05 -- all the way on through 2010, and you specifically mentioned Hillary Clinton and John McCain. Could you ever see yourself on the same ticket as Senator Clinton?
A: Well, you know, I think it’s premature. You won’t see me as a vice presidential candidate -- you know, I’m running for president. We have won twice as many states as Senator Clinton, and have a higher popular vote, and I think we can maintain our delegate count -- but you know what I’m really focused on right now, because all that stuff is premature, is winning this nomination and changing the country.
Why on earth would Barack Obama even think of being anyone's Vice-Presidential candidate? He is the one who is winning, not Hillary Clinton. So, where is this coming from? The Clinton Camp, of course. Making everyone, or attempting to make everyone, believe that all those states Barack Obama won was a figment of our imagination, along with the pledged delegate count and popular vote. Hillary Clinton wants you to believe that only the big states matter and all these other ones are inconsequential. So, in other words since she can win big states she should be the candidate, though she has lost double the states of Obama, don't have the pledged vote count, nor the popular vote. And yes, Obama won Texas, another Nevada, but remember Wolfson said, "The only thing that matters is pledged delegates."
Folks it is like this. Hillary Clinton must have Obama on her ticket, if she somehow steals this nomination. Barack Obama does not need Hillary Clinton, nor the antics, secrecy, the unknown of the Clintons and all the B.S. they carry on any ticket. And quite frankly, neither does America.
Back to why Hillary needs Barack. She and her husband has single handedly destroyed their relationship with the AA community. No democrat has won any election without the sound, voting bloc of the AA vote. If Barack is not on a ticket with Hillary, they are staying home. Yes, the AA community is that angered at the Clintons. How? Look at the voting pattern? Up to New Hampshire, even though Obama won Iowa, the AA vote split was still on Hillary's side, 60/40. Then you bring in Billy Shaheen, Bob Kerrey, Andrew Cuomo, Bob Johnson, and Bill Clinton, himself, and they destroyed the relationship of this community that they savored. What happened in South Carolina was seen nationwide and that was it with the Clintons for the AA community.
Next. Hillary is not the candidate, nor her husband, of being an ATM machine. That title belongs to Barack Obama. All these SDs who are elected officials, many in red states, need Barack Obama standing next to them to raise monies for their upcoming election. Also, these SDs need this over with so they can fundraise and campaign, they don't need the continued bickering of a presidential campaign looming amongst them. They want this over with more than we do.
Hillary Clinton has turned many democrats sour to her by crossing the line, a no-no in politics, as Gary Hart points out.
One of those rules is this: Do not provide ammunition to the opposition party that can be used to destroy your party's nominee. This is a hyper-truth where the presidential contest is concerned.
By saying that only she and John McCain are qualified to lead the country, particularly in times of crisis, Hillary Clinton has broken that rule, severely damaged the Democratic candidate who may well be the party's nominee, and, perhaps most ominously, revealed the unlimited lengths to which she will go to achieve power. She has essentially said that the Democratic Party deserves to lose unless it nominates her.
Hillary Clinton's statement is one of anger, enrage, shock, and elitism. She thinks this nomination is entitled to her and will do anything; say anything to get it, even if it means destroying her democratic colleague and the Democratic Party. Even if it means, we can deal with four years of John McCain and I will be back for the 2012 campaign.
This is the most selfish crap I have ever read.
Lastly, to compare Barack Obama to the Monica Lewinsky special prosecutor, Ken Starr is sewer politics of the worst kind. Why? Do you want the name of Ken Starr and all that entails with the Clintons, continuing to float about during this campaign season? Memory Lane, anyone? Well, I don't.
Barack Obama is not running to be anyone's Vice-Presidential candidate, if anything, it is Hillary Clinton running just trying to make the ticket.
Not only is that obvious but very real.
