Changes. Changes. Changes. We all know that Daily Kos produces enough income to support several groups of individuals including Kos, extended family, front page diarists and the diarists that make the rec list day after day after day. Apparently, Rupert Murdoch knows this as well because the Walll Street Journal reports that he's entered into negotiations to buy Kos.
Gulp. Apparently, The Rupe says that it would be his intentions not to change the editorial policy all that much. We may not have much choice but to believe him.
More after the fllip.
Part of this may stem from the HRC writer "strike" that Murdoch believes should be healed. It apparently:
...makes me uncomfortable to have so many Clinton supporters unable to cross the lines and get their points across. Why Kos has shut them out is beyond me. I would like to see a greater cross section of sentiment but that doesn't mean I will insist upon a change of editorial content. I do think that there are some very incisive thinkers out there who should be heard.

The Rupe also promises more fresh air in the choice of front page diarists. During his interview, the Rupe waxed wistful:
It's all so dreary. Economic maelstroms, melting ice shelfs, racism, sexism...blah blah blah. People are entitled to good news too. So, yes, there may be more information about blondes. Missing or otherwise. When's the last time you've seen a blonde on Kos? How can you have "blonde jokes" if there are no blondes?
So, how will it feel on the ground? Murdoch suggests a wide variety of guest bloggers:
I see no reason why premiere, first rate minds cannot diary here. For instance, I would love to William Kristol, Alan Keyes, and Archibald Bunker have some guest spots. I don't see why someone like Paris Hilton can't express her thoughts here. Similarly, I think that the chymical marriage of Markos and Jerome Armstrong should not be cut asunder by a trifle such as a presidential election. I may insist that Jerome share general editor duties because I think it will be best for everyone. Did Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin really profit from their split? The Beatles? Of course not. I am not going to let something similar happen here
Murdoch went on to say that he has plans to buy the influential Pooties and Ponies Today! magazine and Pie.
Ah well...plus ca change, plus ca meme chose, eh? Meet the new boss, not quite the same as the old boss.
