This was the scene in a debate between the three main candidates for Mayor of London. Boris Johnson is asked the cost of his proposal for a new "Routemaster" bus - that is one which will have a conductor and hop-on/hop-off facilities rather than the current controlled door ones.
As background - the Routemaster is the traditional London bus with an open platform entry at the rear. All current buses have doors controlled by the driver who also takes fares (or more often verifies that the correct prepaid ticket has been swiped against a touchpad)
"Bendy buses" are articulated buses used mostly in central London. They have multiple doors and "Oyster" touch pads near each. Ticket inspectors are used to prevent cheating.
