Apparently, Senator Obama was supposed to be the guest on "The B.S. Report", which is a podcast done by Bill Simmons, a frequent writer for both the site and ESPN: The Magazine (also, my favorite sportswriter). However, this will not come to pass for reasons that are still unclear.

At the last minute, network executives killed a podcast with the senator that was scheduled for Friday with host Bill Simmons.
The presidential candidate was all ready to do it.
"Senator Obama would be happy to appear on ESPN at any time," said his spokesman, Tommy Vietor.
Since I heard the news, I've been trying to figure out why it happened the way it did. Despite a lack of specific knowledge of the process, it seems exceedingly unlikely that Simmons reached out to Obama without the feelers or knowledge of his bosses coming in to play. As such, how did it take so long for the decision to come down?
Many of us know that sports can be incredibly influential along with politics, and here's hoping a resolution comes soon.
Also, I'd love to update if someone finds good outlets to express our opinions to over at ESPN.
