This is a concern for Mainers and Democrats alike. So, please take a quick look at my diary and send your message to Tom Allen or your state's uncommitted superdelegates.
Now that DNC chair Howard Dean has openly called for Superdelegates to announce their preference I feel the gloves are off. Previously I had refrained from sending messages to my state's Superdelegates because I thought it was inappropriate. However, Senator Clinton's frivolous, self-serving, media-hyped, Republican framed attacks have gone way to far. So now it is time to act.
I have begun my own campaign of contacting Maine Superdelegates by contacting Tom Allen. He is a Congressman representing Maine's 1st District (not mine, I'm in Maine 2). He is challenging the loathsome Susan Collins for a seat in the United States Senate. Sue loves to call herself "a moderate and an independent." But, in reality she is a lock step Bushie--voting with his position 81% of the time. She also pledged to only serve two terms, but, guess what?! She was just kidding. For "Maine's sake" she is breaking that pledge and running again. So, needless to say, I want to work hard to elect Tom Allen,
BUT, Tom doesn't have the balls to declare for Barack Obama. What is the problem Tom? Maine has spoken. Democrats have spoken. Did Bill Clinton give a speech for you at some point? Seriously, why do you want this to go on?
So, I wrote Tom urging him to declare for Senator Obama, and I hope you all will join me--whether you live in Maine or not. This fence sitting is hurting all of us--not just Mainers.
My message:
"Sir--
I am eager to begin supporting your campaign and working for your election. Senator Collins is out of touch with Mainers and marching in lock step with the failed policies of George W. Bush and the extremist national Republican Party. However, your "uncommitted" status as a Democratic "Superdelegate" concerns me. What exactly are you waiting for? Do you wish to see Senator Clinton smear our nominee with more frivolous, Republican framed attacks? Please, show a little spine. If you wait until the matter is finally settled, I will not forgive you, work for you, donate to you, or vote for you.
All the best, . . ."
