Keith Olbermann raised an excellent point last night on "Countdown:" Just what poll can you trust?
Today's latest Gallup poll shows Hillary Clinton up one nationally over Barack Obama while a Newsweek poll (with a large segment done after ABC's despicable debate effort) showe OBAMA leading Clinton nationally by about 20 points.
While I'm not so naive to think that Obama has a chance against Hillary in Pennsylvania, how can a Rasmussen poll taken after the "debate" show Clinton up by JUST THREE points while some other poll has her up by as much as seven (and some even more)?
Something is wrong with this picture, and I suggest, as Keith did, that there's a problem when TWO "reputable" polling organizations have two completely different results.
More below.
If I were to believe the Newsweek poll, it would appear that the American people have repudiated Hillary Clinton's negative and dishonest campaign that has showed that she lacks the integrity to be president. But if one were to believe in Gallup's drivel, it would appear that too many Americans are all too willing to fall for any number of right-wing tricks that are designed to distract them from real issues that concern them.
I must confess I'm rather depressed and confused, but I sure hope the right person wins the presidency, and that right person isn't Hillary Clinton or John McCain.
The right person is Barack Obama. He's far better than the other two, and those who want to bring him down and preserve the status quo in the media must be thrown under the bus along with the two status quo candidates the media is propping.
We must not allow the media to dictate the game. We must overwhelm the media and all their tricks and distractions and make sure Barack Obama and other decent candidates get elected to office.
