On April 22nd, 2008,we will celebrate Earth Day. Faye Armitage, who is running for Congress against John Mica in District 7, is the smart choice to help protect Florida and the Nation’s natural resources.
Armitage vows to make the U.S. a leader on climate change. She will invest in a clean energy future, increase fuel economy standards, invest in a digital smart grid and increase the use of biomass, solar and wind resources. Faye Armitage will increase tax credits to help Americans purchase hybrids, solar panels and other energy efficient products to save money and help save the planet. Faye Armitage will also help to bring green collar jobs to our area.
We need a candidate who will help the country move forward. We need to get rid of career politicians like John Mica who fail to look to the future. For 8 terms John Mica has shown no leadership on the environment, and is rated 5% by the League of Conservation Voters. John Mica voted NO on investing in homegrown biofuel, voted NO on keeping a moratorium on drilling for oil offshore, voted NO on raising CAFE standards and incentives for alternative fuels, voted NO against the Beach Protection ACT, and voted Yes on speeding up approval of forest thinning projects. John Mica is wrong on the environment and bad for Florida’s future.
Please help a grassroots candidate turn a red district Blue. In 2006 Mica raised almost 800k and won 62% of the vote. His challenger raised just over 21k and received 38% of the vote. Faye is a much more viable candidate. Just imagine what she would be able to accomplish with a larger warchest.
