Between Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore & Jimmy Carter, we have three of the most influential Democrats, who's recommendations would hold much water with the remaining Superdelegates.
After North Carolina, and regardless of what happens in Indiana, they should come out together and declare their support for Obama.
An analysis here http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/
makes it clear that MANY of the remaining uncommitted superdelegates would likely listen/go along with these 3 senior colleagues.
Add Howard Dean and you have an unavoidable conclusion that all would & should follow.
The key is how to announce it, so that Hillary's supporters come along for the ride as much as possible. And that can happen over time as well, especially if roles for Bill and Hillary are made clear (Middle East and Healthcare reform, respectively)
If the math is inevitable, and it actually already is, it's time to put an end to this charade.
Too much ground has been lost to McCain and too much more is in jeopardy if we don't act very soon.
The timeline of history is moving, and the math will show that there is no way a Hillary nomination can be achieved legitimately, so she needs to get out, gracefully, and very soon. Not to mention that she will again have no money in two weeks, and with fewer prospects.
Hillary can climb on board, or if she doesn't agree, push her to the side. It's time for hardball. No waiting until the convention.
