Today I decided to phone bank. I made 40 calls to Indiana, and 30 calls to North Carolina.
Of the calls to Indiana, six were unanswered, two undecided..one leaning Obama, one a Clinton voter, and the rest were Obama supporters.
Of the calls to North Carolina, three were unanswered, four undecided...three leaning Obama, three for Clinton, and the rest were for Obama.
Not one person asked me about Rev. Wright. Not one person asked about the flag pin. Not one person asked about Ayers.
They were concerned about gas prices. They were concerned about jobs. They were concerned about health care. They were concerned about getting out of Iraq. Three said they watched Obama on Fox and liked what they heard. Five said they saw Obama playing basketball and thought it was great how he is involving young kids in his campaign to GOTV.
None of these people are sitting around with tin foil hats on, wringing their hands like nervous Nellies over Rev. Wright. Fourteen asked how they could help. I told them phone banking or canvassing their areas would be a great help. The weather in the part of Indiana I called is like in northern IL today, rainy, so a few said they would try phone banking through Obama's website. A few in North Carolina said they would go talk to their neighbors after dinner tonight.
So, it was a good day. The Obama voters were excited about him. A few of the North Carolina people commented about by "Yankee" accent, but it was in good fun. Really, very nice people all around today.
I did not watch the MSM overload on Rev. Wright and Obama. After seeing how many blogs were written on here today, no wonder they keep talking about it! Wheeeeeee!
UPDATE: Did you know that Obama is hoping for one million phonecalls to the primary States by May 6? Thanks for the link PointGuard.
