Why do some in the left blogosphere -- and by extension, a large portion of the liberal/progressive elctorate -- truly hate Barack Obama?
Just take a quick gander at some of leading blogs out there: The Left Coaster, founded by none other than Kos alum Steve Sotoand a favorite of mine (until recently)....Larry Johnson's No Quarter blog, which was an otherwise great blog on national security/intelligence/military issues, before descending into a daily Obama hate fest site....Taylor Marsh, a blog I don't normally visit, but which is also filled with constant, seven-day-a-week slaps at Barack, and many, many more, I'm sure of, but don't make a habit of looking for. They have turned their support for Hillary -- which I certainly do not begrudge them for -- into a "Let's demonize Barack Obama" cabal -- and kids, I do mean "demonize."
And there demonizing is filled with absolute glee over the controversy involving Reverend Wright, and the "possible" damage it is doing to his campaign. But what they fail to understand that if Hillary manages to secure the nomination, despite being behind in pledged delegates, losing superdelegates at the rate of two-to-one, and behind in the popular vote, it will be a pyrrhic victory, because of this crucial fact:
White 'Progressives' have been running around talking about ' unifying the party'. From this column at HuffingtonPost.com:
And, should Senator Clinton secure the nomination as the result of a floor fight at the convention (which her campaign admits is her only path to the nomination), that will only further promote the perception that this nomination is being stolen from America's first African American candidate with a real shot. If it goes that far, to the convention, there is only two months to repair the breach. A daunting task, indeed.
Everyone I've discussed this with who is white basically says the same thing -- wounds will heal, African Americans will come back.
This is in a word, DELUSIONAL.
You can take me at my word. Take Jim Clyburn at his word. Or, you can dismiss the chorus, growing across the Black Blogosphere, which is once again, being the canary in the mine on this issue.
I'll only state my own position:
I will not, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, vote for Hillary Clinton.
There was, once upon a time, when I would have held my nose and considered it. That time has long since passed.
I will NEVER become a 'complicit accomplice' in her race-baiting tactics by giving her my vote.
For me, it's about any future Black politician with aspirations higher than a gerrymandered Congressional Seat.
If she is allowed to STEAL this nomination from Obama, based upon a foundation of Dogwhistle Racial Politics, then she will be giving the blueprint by which ANY future Black politician will be taken out.
I'm not having any parts of that under any circumstances.
IF I voted for her AFTER SHE STEALS IT, then I, and every other Black voter who votes for her, would be saying that Black folk belong PERMANENTLY IN THE BACK OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY BUS.

That's no s..t, Sherlock. It's not just some random blog quote, either...a co-worker of mine told me some friends of hers expressed similar viewpoints. And for you Obama-haters who are engaging in 24/7 schadenfreude, I'll let The Rude Pundit remind you of the peccadillos and peculiarities of a certain Democratic president from the 1990s:
It would be so fuckin' easy to take down Hillary Clinton, and the RNC knows it and can't wait for the chance to do it. Obama hasn't, and probably won't. Here's the one-two-three of how, if the Obama campaign truly wanted to go negative, the Clinton campaign would be over. Follow the bouncing ball of a logical progression to the nuke:
Where did the liaisons between Lewinsky and Bill Clinton take place? In the White House, especially in the Oval Office or a study off the Oval Office. So where the President of the United States holds meetings with the leaders of the world, as well as his cabinet and members of Congress, as well as photo ops with we the ordinary people, in a space that is paid for by the taxes of the people of the United States, Bill Clinton placed his cock in the mouth of an intern for no better reason than he was bored and her mouth was willing.
What exactly are the problems with Reverend Wright as they relate to Barack Obama? Wright said some not so nice things about the United States and he spouted a couple of conspiracy theories. At church. Of what is Obama guilty in his connection to Wright? Well, as Hillary Clinton and the North Carolina Republican Party have asserted, he didn't get up and leave and break from his church of 20 years.
[snip]
Applying the standard set for Obama in his relationship to Jeremiah Wright to the marriage of Hillary and Bill Clinton, do we not have every right to ask why Clinton did not divorce her husband. Oh, sure, you can say, "Well, that's crazy, it's a personal decision, it's a family thing," but Hillary Clinton chose to stay married to a man who not only repeatedly betrayed her, which we could interpret in lots of ways about her character, both good and bad, but to a man who spewed adulterous semen at the White House on America's dime. No, Bill Clinton might not have said, "God damn America," but he sure believed that American could pay for a place for him get his dick sucked. So it ain't that far a leap to say that he betrayed America, too.
