For the last couple of years we have been earning a little more money and have been able to start giving to charitable and political organizations.
Over the past few months our various donations have been repaid in a flood of junk mail which have probably cost the non-profits far more than we have donated. I donated $25 to ActBlue in 2006 and have been receiving Christmas cards from politicians from Alaska to Florida for instance. I am seriously considering not donating to ActBlue this year because of this problem.
Some of the worst offenders are environmental non-profits who should know better. Even worse though are the specific disease prevention guys who send mailing labels, calendars, and even coins (does that ever work?).
Is there a way to stop this?
