Rachel Maddow fans everywhere were delighted that she got to sit in for Keith Olbermann on Countdown last Friday. It's probably the first time anybody live blogged a guest host on one of the cable shows.
TV Newser has the ratings from Friday night and Rachel did great. The numbers are after the break.
Friday Night's cable news ratings tell the story:
25-54 demographic: (L +SD)
8p: 9p: 10p: 11p:
FNC Billo H&C: Greta: O'Reilly:
385 238 197 252
CNN Brown: King: Cooper: Cooper:
155 177 219 148
MSNBC Countdown: Verdict: Countdown: Investig.:
244 126 111 127
HLN Grace: Beck: Grace: Showbiz:
132 123 126 133
Rachel more than doubled her lead in and almost doubled the next highest show on MSNBC. Rachel did better than anything on CNN. In fact, Rachel had the second highest rated show on cable news, behind only the big talking head with the loofah.
Not bad for a guest anchor. The network should be pleased.
