Earlier today four leading members of the news media announced that they were leaving the Catholic Church.
"I just came to realize that the institution I belong to has for years been responsible for terrible acts of molestation against the young men in their charge," Chris Matthews remarked, adding,"I could no longer support the institution that enabled this kind of terrible treatment of our youth."
Tim Russert added, "4,000 people molested nearly 30,000 children? Just think about that, they could fill nearly two Sabres arenas with all the victims, and the church I am a member of covered this abuse up for DECADES."
Sean Hannity noted, "My staying in that pew would have meant that I myself was a child molester, I had to leave the church, I had no choice."
"Anybody who doesn't follow my lead should burn in hell, to treat children in such a manner," chided Bill O'Reilly, "that's why these kids should all get a copy of "The Factor for Kids'..."
Of course this never happened. yet, these guys feel free to pillory Barack Obama for the stupid things his pastor said?
they push and probe this story like it means something, when they know it doesn't. Just like the criminal priests who molested all of those kids don't reflect their own values because they are Catholics.
If Tim Russert brings up the Wright issue on Sunday I will email this to him every single day.
Really, is Chris Matthews credible in questioning Obama remaining in the church over what this pastor has SAID? Bill O'Reilly?, Sean Hannity? Tim Russert?
Reverend Wright has said some pretty offensive things, but saying outlandish things does not even come close to the ACTIONS of nearly 4,000 priests of their faith. Actions that affected the lives of up to 30,000 young altar boys.
ACTIONS that were covered up by the ENTIRE institution of the Catholic Church in America. All these guys that want to righteously question Obama on his membership of a Pastor's congregation that has SAID some crazy things, versus their continued involvement in an organization that sexually abused up to 30000 kids under their guidance and then covered it up over a span of DECADES.
What excuses do they have for their continued membership in this criminal enterprise? According to the standards they apply to Obama, NONE.
Did they say it was despicable? Not good enough. It isn't for Obama.
Did they abuse the children themselves? Nope, so, what they are guilty.
What did they do? They said it was terrible and continued their membership. Since they still are members they must condone child molestation, maybe they even done it themselves a few times.
I refuse to watch any of these folks continue to ramp up this non issue story, not that I honestly ever do watch Hannity or O'Reilly in the first place.
Either they live up to their own standards and quit the Catholic Church or they stop crucifying Obama over a sin that they are far guiltier of.
the media is driving this story on purpose and it needs to stop. the hypocrisy is breath taking.
