UPDATE: I actually think this may be the first announcement that Barack Obama has confirmed that the Michigan and Florida delegations will be seated at the convention in a fair way. After all, "...when I'm the Democratic nominee, I want them on my side." (paraphrased, accuracy later)
Are we excited that our vote is going to count--it may even count Hilary out! YES!!
Today, Barack Obama is holding a Town Hall meeting right here in our little city on the High Desert, in the shadow of the Cascades. It's being carried live by our local KTVZ TV station, both online and on air.
Tune in at around 11 AM Pacific Time for your Barack Fix!
I'll be there with my trusty Press Pass, and will bring back pictures and notes. A bit more over the hump...
As this is a very busy day for me, this is a post and run diary. I know it will scroll quickly away, but oh well. A live Barack Fix was just too cool to pass up.
I'll be out on our beautiful Widgi Creek Golf Course in about 20 minutes, setting up the bunkers and tees for a beautiful day on the links winding through the ponderosa's along the Deschutes River. Than, after I get done around 10:30, I'll go get in the press entrance at Summit High and get an in-person Live Barack Fix!
Can you tell I'm excited?
Then I have committed to helping my wife with her booth at the 3rd Annual Factory Stores Pedal Power Swap (she's kindly letting me get my Live Barack Fix first), so it won't be until this evening I'll be able to upload pics and updates.
But you can watch live, too! Online at KTVZ TV station.
Get your Barack Fix every day.
PS Juding by the number of Clinton signs (one and counting) versus Barack signs (sprouting like weeds, including in my own yard) around town, Barack is going to whomp on good ole Hillary.
Thank you all for letting us here in Oregon put her out of her misery. In honor of this great moment, helping to speed this feat along, I'll be putting my Official Ballot in the mail later today, too.
After my Live Barack Fix!
UPDATE: It was electric. The man is flat out fucking amazing in person. At one point in my notes I have "blessed" with exclamtion marks on both sides. Smart, confident, funny, friendly, willing to listen, willing to make hard decisions. And has a campaign completely trumps the Big Dog's appearance in town earlier. Barack IS the man for the moment.
Some more comments from my notes: "charismatic, easy grace, charming, intelligent, ML King's "the urgency of now!"
More soon. I have to go help my wife at the bike swap for a couple of hours.
Let me leave you with a teaser:
Unfortunately, in the jostling my cam hit the concrete floor, and seems to have bounced the optics. I'll salvage what I can soon.
