I haven't posted a diary on Kos in a while because everyone on here does such a fine job of reporting on the things they see and/or hear. Today I have to step up because I am speechless and utterly appalled. Here is why...
Why picture Obama as Curious George? "Look at him . . . the hairline, the ears, he looks just like Curious George," Norman said.
A bar in Marietta, GA is selling these t-shirts:

Also, go to that article right now and take that lovely poll.
The recent results at 9:40am CST:
What do you think of the Obama T-shirt?
It's racist 45.06% 1752
It's fine 54.94% 2136
In any case, the bar that is selling these t-shirts also has a sign out front where they put up things like this:
Among his recent musings: "I wish Hillary had married OJ," "No habla espanol — and never will" and the standard "I.N.S. Agents eat free."
I understand the freedom of speech and he has a right to put stuff like this up. But I also understand that speech like this hurts people.
I don't usually do things like this but I remember what happened when everyone got together and called the church that put up the sign about how Obama was related to Osama.
I think we should call Mulligans Bar in Marrietta, Georgia and let him know the shirts are racist. (770) 499-1137
P.S. Actually, I don't know if this is such a good idea. After researching the phone number, I just read a review of Mulligans on CitySearch.com and this is what it said:
Just an FYI, but if you ever go to Mulligan's in GA, please be wary of the clientele. The place is rumored to be the local meeting spot for the KKK, hence why the owner Mike ("Shotgun Mike," as he refers to himself) has such right-wing views. The food is garbage too. My advice: but a 12 of Bud Light and drink down by the river, it'll be more enjoyable. And you won't have to deal with the brand of hate- and fear-mongering Mulligan's serves up.
Pros: Great Wings
Cons: Home of the KKK
I am sick to my stomach now. Is there any HOPE here?
