Sure, we are in debt to China, but Russia may be the new world superpower. Much of our concern pertains to China's rise in economic standing, and our rising debt to the communist country. So I raise this question, was it prudent to recognize Kosovo's independence as a nation? Sure, freedom is great, but on diplomatic stance, with frostier relations against the Russians, was it a good move? I think not. Dmitry Medvedev's inauguration was a short time ago, May 7th.
So, what will the new sham of a government be. He is obviously Putin's pet, naming him PM in his inauguration today. Will Russia withdraw into an isolationist attitude? Will Russia push for a cold-war like global confrontation?
The US anti-missile defense systems could complicate matterscomplicate matters
Said the Chief of the Russian General Staff, General Yury Baluyevsky:
"The issue of, to put it mildly, a confrontation with Russia, including a direct confrontation, is unfortunately still regarded by my counterparts from the Pentagon as relevant,"
The United States has continued to play world police, putting the United Nations, and NATO in a difficult position.
A famous quote by Germann Goering sums up both the Cold War, and our current endeavor into political struggle:
"Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
The Russian people are experiencing any "fallen" empire (in the modern era) has experienced, a rebirth. We saw it after World War I with Germany, and we may see it again. Vladimir Putin may want war. The US are stretched wire-thin, so it is of essence that we can get someone into office who can deal with these growing threats. Obama.
Thanks.
