Good morning folks. As the flap over Bush's embarrassing comments in Israel drift off into the media memory hole, along with Mcain's support of the standard Republican ploy of smearing a political opponent and then prolonging the accusation by denying that's what they meant. (see Huckabee's recent "joke" ) I have a couple of serious questions for Mr. Mccain.
Sir, was it wrong for your hero, Ronald Reagan to talk with Mikal Gorbachev before he "tore down this wall"?
Did President Kennedy make a mistake and show weakness by talking with (or as you like to say "appease") the Soviets during the Cuban Missile Crisis?
And finally, after you were released from the POW camp in North Vietnam, were you outraged to find out that the Nixon Administration had engaged in negotiations ("appeasement") with the North Vietnamese that resulted in your release?
Was that a sign of weakness?
Was that naive?
Would you have rather stayed in Hanoi, enduring torture (or enhance intergaton techniques, as your friends like to call them now) than be released because your leaders were willing to "appease" the enemny?
I realize this is a short diary, but it's Saturday, it's nice out, and I have a six year old who want to go catch tadpoles.
