If George Bush told you we were winning in Iraq, would you believe him?
If Dick Cheney told you that Al Qaeda in Iraq was in its last throes, would take him at his word?
If Fox News reported that Barack Obama's new health care plan was equal to socialized medicine, would you wait to pass judgment until you read about the plan from another source?
So why is it, when the supposedly LARGEST SCALE TYRANNY IN OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY
Senior government officials have leaked detailed information about a database of 8 million Americans targeted for detention in case of a declared national emergency.
is diaried on an article published in an obscure Magazine, RADAR (POP*POLITICS*SCANDAL*STYLE), this community votes it up to the top position on the rec list.
How is it that this community can so readily accept as truth the notion that our Government has a secret plot to "round up" 5% of its population? Are other sources needed before chalking this plan up as fact to be trumpeted far and wide?
And why is there no skepticism, when the program is revealed by unnamed sources?
According to a senior government official who served with high-level security clearances in five administrations [unnamed], .... He and other sources [unnamed] tell Radar that the database is sometimes referred to by the code name Main Core. One knowledgeable source [unnamed] claims that 8 million Americans are now listed in Main Core as potentially suspect.
And why is there no skepticism when the alleged program is revealed by supposedly "High Ranking Government officials" to a reporter with no track record of reporting on TSP, FISA or the Warrantless Wiretapping program?
I may be completely wrong. There could be a Fascist Conspiracy Plan to round us all up. In this case, RADAR magazine and it's unnamed hero-sources will help us stop the Fascists, and I will be the fool (at least until it is reported in another source). But there are aspects of this story that are suspect:
- Big story striking fear/recognition in the hearts of progressives
- Low-circulation or online publisher
- Biggest story ever for the author/publisher
- Unnamed sources
Does anyone at this site remember Jason Leopold's Rove Scoop?
Bev Harris's election fraud proof (and fund to get it)?
Rove's 500 secret emails?
I do.
