The more I think about it the more satisfied I am with my decision half way through Barack Obama's speech at the 2004 Democratic convention to elect him as my president. You see, I knew then that he was just being humble when he said he was not considering the presidency at that point. I knew he was a man of the times, with a nimble mind and great oratorical skills, and a flaming respect for the Constitution, in short my president. It was one of the most prescient feelings I have ever had. I knew instinctively this was the person who represented how I felt about our country.
Barack, like me, tries to be a good father to daughters with a strong Mom. He is raising some great kids and he has a nuclear family that should make John McCaint ashamed of his peccadillos.
On a day when Dailykos is going ballistic about whats her name's "poor referencing" I think it is important to re- establish why we are fighting so hard. We are naturally protective of this person that we love so much.
This diary is not to be a fact packed blockbuster about the ins and outs of policy and campaign hubbub, although have at it in the comments if you want to list all the good stuff about our candidate. Or troll, whatever, you don't scare me.
This is simply an affirmation of the fact that Barack Obama is going to be a great president that uses diplomacy, has reverence for the Constitution, and is funded by the people. This diary is an emotional response to the truth and justice and high aspirations I have for our country with Obama as president.
I would love it if this diary was a depository of other people's reasons for wanting Barack Obama to be president.
Again, I really like Barack Obama.
