When General Grant took command of the Army of the Potomac in the spring of 1864 the staff he inherited warned him of the dangers of "Bobby Lee" and how lethal the Confederate forces could be to the Union forces. Grant said, "I don't want to hear any more about what Bobby Lee is going to do to us. I want him to worry about what we are going to do to him".
General Grant rightly realized that the staff that he had inherited were simply afraid of Bobby Lee. Frankly, I think many Obama supporters have the same fear of Hillary Clinton.
Enough
.
I am frankly tired of hearing what Hillary is going to do Obama. Diary after diary seem to believe that Hillary has magical powers. "She going to take it to the convenetion." "She will never give up." "She will break the party in two." "She will steal the nomination." "She will force her way onto the ticket." The same is true of Bill. "Bill wants Hillary as VP." "Bill wants the full Michigan and Florida delegations seated."
No, she should worry if anybody in the Democratic Party is gong to take her serious again. Hillary should be fearful that President Obama is not going to do jack for her because of her actions.
Obama is going to crush her in superdelegates voting after the last primary. Let's look at recent history on superdelegate movement:
Obama got way more superdelegates than Hillary after he lost Ohio and Texas;
Obama got way more superdelegates than Hillary after Rev Wright first appeared;
Obama got way more superdelegates than Hillary after bittergate;
Obama got way more superdelegates than Hillary after losing Pennsylvania;
Obama got way more superdelegates than Hillary after Rev Wright tried to tank him;
Obama got way more superdelegates than Hillary after losing West Virigina by 41 points (22 to 4.5 in the week after WV)
Now, we are supposed to be fearful that the superdelegates will abandon him after (1) he won pledged delegates; (2) MSM regards him at the nominee, (3) Hillary is broke and he has $35 million and (4) Hillary was just recorded as saying something that suggested that she is a sicko who is hanging around in case some nut job hurts Obama.
There is no logic to this: just fear
The same is true about Michigan and Florida. Who cares about May 31st meeting of the rules committee. Here, is what is most likely to happen:
She does not have the votes to get what she wants (full seating per primaries). Her own supporters on the committee will turn on her. I would bet that there is a "deal" among members of the committee that is being worked out. The committee will show a united front. Given that going to the convention is a big deal and a treat for people who work hard for the party(I got to go in 2004 for Edwards), here is what is most likely to happen
(1) seat Michigan 69-59 per Michigan Democratic party compromise
(2) accept Florida per primary
(3) cut all votes in Florida and Michigan to half votes, including superdelegates.
Bottom line, Hillary gets 69+105/2=87
Obama gets 59+69/2=64.
Obama loses a net 23 (Obama is ahead by 181 now--so who cares if he loses 23)
Obama says he went more than half way
Again, what is the basis to think that Florida/Michigan will turn out better for Hillary? Chuck Todd reported the night of the Kentucky/Oregon primary that cutting in half is the likely result based upon conversations with those on the committee.
What is the basis for thinking otherwise. I submit the only reason is: fear.
I have no going to live my life in fear of what Hillary might do. She lost. She lost months ago. Now, she is just losing her dignity.
I live in California and I am going spend my time thinking what swing state I should go to in the Fall to help campaign for Obama (I got it down to Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Virginia). I suggest my fellow Obama supporters stop living in fear and start thinking about how we are going win this thing in the fall.
