I wonder how many others feel the way this friend of mine does?
The more she opens her mouth the more she inserts foot. Very unfortunate. Frankly, I am a bit shamed that I was ever behind her and voted for her in the CA primary. Can't take that back, huh?
Hillary keeps talking about how close the vote is as a reason why she should remain in the race. But when I got this email it was suddenly clear to me. She's lost even some of her former supporters. The race is not nearly as close as it appears.
Look at the fomer Clinton supporters who are now backing Obama:
- Rep. John Lewis
- Rep. David Scott
- Former DNC Chairman Joe Andrew and his Clinton supporting wife
- Rapper 50 cent
- 40 members of the California delegation
(Help me complete this list!)
There are probably thousands of others - maybe hundreds of thousands who are not famous, but who have quietly switched their support to Obama.
So her last best argument, that nearly as many people voted for her as for him, may not even hold water if examined.
There's no reason for her to be in the race except as a spoiler. I think it's past time the superdelegates closed ranks behind our nominee.
I know, I know. It's only two more weeks. But look at the damage she's done in the last couple. Hardworking white people? RFK's assassination? How much more damage will Dean, Pelosi, and Reid let her do? How much will WE let her do?
