This dairy is a challenge to all who say there are no White, Middle-aged, middle-class women for Obama. I call them WMMW's for Obama. I am one of those rare voters for Obama; white, middle-aged, middle class, and female. There are hundreds of other such supporters in the state of Idaho. We may be the only state in the union with all of our superdelegates pledged for Senator Obama. Our DNC chair just recently endorsed Senator Obama. WMMWs for Obama are alive and well in Idaho. Read about ID Democrats on redstaterebels.com. See the story on our state DNC chairs's endorsement. http://redstaterebels.typepad.com/...
Writing for the first time from Idaho where Senator Obama received 80% of the vote from this conservative, mostly White state, it must be noted that Obama has White voters. His success in ID has created hundreds of devoted volunteers who are working tirelessly until he is the next president. TJ Thomson and Kassie Cerami started a grassroots organization and opened an office w/o national support until Obama headquarters heard about us and sent staffers in the fall of 2007.
Although never been involved in a presidential election or volunteered or travel to neighboring states or caucused before, this middle-aged, middle-classed white woman is giving her all to the Obama campaign. I have been working since August, even traveling to Nevada, as a volunteer and campaign captain. I have housed Obama staffers from Iowa, had debate and primary/caucus watch parties, as well as calling parties. My house is filled with signs, fliers, and Obama gear. I have made hundreds of calls, blogged, canvassed, and GOTC (caucus). On the night of our county caucus, the largest attendance to date was 148 people in 2004. Our 2008 county caucus had almost 800 attendees with more unable to get inside the buildings. The Senator received over 73% of the votes in our county. People in our conservative town are still talking about it.
Currently I am doing all I can to help Senator Obama secure the nominationa and the general. My major concern for the general election is to stop the swift boating of Obama. I want to pass this important story on to Kos readers and beyond.
Sam Stein at Huffington writes today that
"This past month, Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign paid tens of thousands of dollars to a vendor that was simultaneously working on behalf of a independent group attacking Sen. Barack Obama..."
