Playing now in a theater near you, Rush Limbaugh and other repub surrogates are touting this talking point today.
Stemming from the weekend statement of John McCain that Obama needs to "be educated", we have the official, official rollout of this ridiculous talking point.
Limbaugh is even going so far as to compare W as smart and coherent, comparing this weekends speeches to Obama, who conflates Veterans with those whom should be honored on Memorial Day. "On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today".
Powerline has it. Media Newsgroup has it.
ROVIAN smear tactic alert!
We all remember John Kerry being swiftboated on his patriotism. We all know KKKarl Rove has a penchant for attacking the opposition's strength.
Such an obvious ploy to discredit Obama's strength, and the next thing we know he will be vilified as a "stupid Muslim".
You and I know this is ridiculous, but today, millions of middle Americans are having this seed planted deep in their brains. The thing about this kind of attack is not why doesn't the media carry it, but why would the media carry it? It is too subtle, too much core political, to generate any news coverage. In fact, there's probably not much we can even do about it, except watch it evolve with a sort of sick fascination.
Personally, I can't wait until Obama can stand toe to toe with McCain, and people have a chance to look at a Lexus versus a DeSoto.
What will be Obama's next strength attacked?
