Yes- most of us lost any respect for him with his lunk-headed cracks about the bigger cojones he felt HRC had vs. Obama, and his schoolyard need to say he wanted it understood that he thought Bill Richardson was a Judas. Yes- I'm ecstatic that hopefully by moving to New Orleans, he'll be even less frequent on "Meet the Press". And when he said he'd send Obama a check if HRC concedes, I'm sure I'm not the only one who came up with a few ideas for where Jimmy could cram that check.
But with Carville's concession here, it sounds like even the uppermost crows in HRC's tree are starting to caw the truth.

Asked if he thought Obama would beat McCain, Carville said: "I think he will. I think Democrats will win in November...There's a crushing desire for change in this country. No one has seen a party or brand held in such low esteem" than the Republicans.
Carville's repeated suggestions that Obama "will" beat McCain contrast with the core Hillary message -- repeated frequently by Hillary advisers -- that Obama merely "can" win a general election, while Hillary "will" win it. Carville's comments also suggest that with the fall contest looming, it's becoming tougher for prominent Hillary backers to sustain any argument that doesn't show full confidence in Obama's chances against McCain.
He says he still thinks HRC is more electable, but at least he didn't feel the need to get off a few more shots as the curtain comes down like Ed Rendell did the other day.
Also, Carville defuses the 'danger' of Obama potentially losing the white working class voter bloc- noting all he has to do is not lose it by more than Kerry did.
"I would argue that if he gets what Kerry got he will still win the election, because the dynamics have changed," Carville said, pointing to likely larger turnout among young voters, African Americans and other demographic changes. Carville joked, however, that he'd be loath to see Obama fall below Kerry's performance.
Is it likely Obama will lose more of those votes than Kerry? Possibly-those that can't handle having a non-white President- but Kerry's often flat performance on the stump along with his wind-surfing probably didn't help him in this group.
Carville is showing he actually is willing to admit what the handwriting on the wall says. At least it's one less delusional voice in the MSM.
