Jerome Armstrong, like Harold Ickes, like Hillary Clinton is hell-bent on destroying Barack Obama's chances to win in November.
Simply because he doesn't want to be wrong or to lose. Some class there.
What follows is a fairly straightforward and perhaps all too simple cut and paste job from my own blog Justice Addict The original article is: Jerome Armstrong Is A Putz. If my etiquette in so eschewing cross-posting generalities is anywhere near as disorderly as the rambunctious harpies at the RBC meeting today, then let me know. For now, follow me across the jump for all the fun...
Though it pains me to do so, I now present my readers with this link to the MyDD thread that blogged the final decisions of the DNC's Rules and Bylaws Committee in real time.
The televised scene at the RBC meeting was raucous, to say the least.
At times the Clinton supporters got so out of hand that even those members of the Committee that had endorsed Clinton (like Alice Huffman) had to (politely) tell them to shut up.
Bottom line: Those stories about Obama supporters being overzealous, annoying, untempered and intimidating ought to be put to rest forever after today.
Hillary Clinton's supporters in that room ought to be ashamed of themselves for the distractions and commotion that they were causing amidst a meeting of leaders of their own party. Have they no shame, at long last, have they no sense of decency? Jeez.
Of course these feeble-minded Clinton supporters (and by no means all of them...in fact, I would wager that most Clinton supporters, being entirely rational and sober about this election and its consequences were as appalled by the behavior they saw from "fellow" Clinton "supporters" as I was today) were enabled by people like Harold Ickes, the DNC member (and Clinton delegate counter) who voted to strip all of Florida and Michigan's delegations for breaking the rules last year when it seemed like Clinton's nomination was inevitable but who has done a complete 180 degree turn now that the math works against Clinton, the person who pays his salary.
Yeah, the guy who not only voted to strip, but helped to engineer the full penalty is now leading the charge against a half-penalty (today's result) because Hillary is losing. And how does he do it? With class and character?
Nope, he lobs grenades:
"This motion will hijack, remove 4 delegates of Hillary Clinton. .. this body of 30 indivuduals [sic] is goingn [sic] to substitute their judgment for 600,000 voters. ... I am stunned that we have the gall and chutzpa to substitute our judgement [sic] for 600,000 voters." This is an act to "overturn the election."
(Per Jerome Armstrong's transcript...yeah Jerome can't spell any more than he can prognosticate politically or day trade effectively.)
Ickes little speech was peppered with charming words like "hell" and "ass" and "damn" which are sure to help unify the party and are destined to impress all the older white voters who have been sticking with Clinton as of late. Don't get me wrong, I'm no shrinking violet when it comes to language, as quite a few other posts of mine can attest, but is this really the kind of language you want to use when you're trying to change the minds of the members of a committee or bring about a decent compromise and party unity? Nope. Of course not.
That would assume that Harold Ickes was trying to do any of that. Which he certainly wasn't.
By now it has become fairly obvious that Clinton and her surrogates have one purpose: to sabotage Barack Obama's chances in November so that they can say, "I told you so."
Maybe they'll have another shot in 2012. Maybe they won't.
But if they can't win...at least they'll be right. And smug.
If they go down, they're taking the Democratic Party and all it stands for (Choice, the Environment, Healthcare, Social Security, Civil Rights, Labor Rights, Gay Rights, Peace, ETC.) with them. Harold Ickes, today, led the charge.
That's the dangerous path that Clinton and Ickes, et, al. have taken and that has been echoed by idiots like Taylor Marsh, Larry Johnson and Jerome Armstrong.
Jerome Armstrong, is of course, a shady character as it is. Having been involved with a huge trading scam during his scrupulous and hardworking previous job as a day trader before he turned to politics. He refuses to disclose who, if any candidate he has been paid to support this time around, though it's obvious that he's in the tank for Clinton and he is notorious for responding to such allegations of payola with Stalin-like instant bans.
Democracy. Free speech. Class.
Oh yeah, this guy's got it all.
In his role as Clinton supporter he's gotten profoundly bitterer and bitterer as the primary season has dragged on made a fool of him and his political opinions. In turn he has made an insane amount of ludicrous comments on the race for the White House including sticking to Clinton's totally bogus popular vote argument and using the most fuzzy math of all to shore it up.
So it's no surprise, that in his blogging of the RBC meeting he made absolutely no note of how rude, demeaning and intemperate the Clinton supporters were being. Instead he pulls out some of their more coherent ramblings and chants to make them look like decent human beings who were acting in accord with the situation instead of being disruptive, whiny, little children.
This from the guy who routinely excommunicates Obama supporters from his own site when he feels they're getting out of hand. Apples and oranges? I think not. He's just a hypocrite.
Armstrong also took a shot at undeclared superdelegate, DNC-RBC member and CNN commentator Donna Brazile:
"Funny moment, the camera inside the hall panned over Brazile who was rolling her eyes-- classy woman there."
(As Ickes was intoning his lies and hypocrisies with forced and fabricated pathos and outrage.)
So, let's get this straight:
The guy (Harold Ickes) who engineered this mess in the first place and has, since becoming a high-up on the Clinton team, changed course and decides to make his "case" by taking the path of madness, self-destruction and disunity is A-OK.
While the woman (Donna Brazile) who rightly rolled her eyes at the obvious sanctimony dribbling out of Ickes' mouth at the time is class-less.
Did I get that right, Jerome?
You are absolutely pathetic. Is destroying Obama just so you get to be right really worth it?
Update: Per a warning, I have changed the title. Slainte! And, go Celts!
