When I met him at a book signing in Denver (October, 2006) I told him I would do whatever he needed me to if he chose to run for president. Ironic but, he replied "Well, thank you sweetie". And to that I said, "Please, just don't do anything crazy". He looked up from signing my book, laughed and said, "I will try my hardest. I'm a grown man but sometimes it's hard for me to not act a fool."
The future President of the United States said "act a fool" y'all.
But he did take my advice. Barack's campaign is about change change change but he isn't going to "cray-cray" with innovative new ways to win a nomination; he followed all the same old rules, and used them to his advantage.
That accuracy at which his staff mastered the rules of caucus and primaries for each state, county, precinct and zip code is simply amazing. My hope is that disgruntled Hillary supporters see this strategy not as shrewd and calculating, but as a hint of things to come once he is president.
Sorry this is short and sweet, but I am deliriously tired from canvassing all day for a local candidate. Another benefit of the Obama nomination: more registered Dems voting, more Dems down ticket will be winning in November, with Obama.
Podemos con Obama.
