Enough is enough. This game is over. The corporate media would like us all to believe that there is still a race going on between Obama and Clinton, but sadly that isn't the case. I tip my hat to Obama for surviving the slash and burn politics that he has faced over the last two months. He seems to be a stronger candidate than what people intially thought [I don't know where they got that idea, he has proven himself time and time again].
After winning impressively in North Carolina and almost winning in Indiana, Obama is now on his way to a fierce war with the GOP. Make no mistake, the GOP will throw everything at him and more. Not just the kitchen sink, but the china, the toaster, the microwave, the skillets, pots, pans, bottles of cooking oil, the Pan spray, and everything else in the house. It is going to be brutal. But Obama can take it. You don't survive Chicago politics if you aren't tough.
I am sick of people trying to piss on Obama's parade. He has every right to be happy about his win and for the media to be spinning this as well, this win is not so much is nauseating. And for people to be writing diaries on why Obama cannot win in November is even more revolting. We need a Democrat to win and people are already saying bullshit about his race and whether or not he can get those white working class voters and then of course, they are bringing up flag pin nonsense; not to mention, the notion that he won't carry blue states in the fall. Where is the evidence? Real Clear Politics and Zogby? I mean come on now, let's get a concrete argument together that will prove that he cannot carry California and Pennsylvania in the fall.
I am also tired of some marginalizing Black voters - saying that the only reason Obama won was because of Black voters. Yes, the Black vote surely helped, but he got some other voters too. His win last night in North Carolina proves just how much African Americans are essential to a democratic win. You cannot win a general election without that core group of the democratic party and for people to be making this an issue is both racist and quite ruthful. This notion that purple states and some red states cannot become blue is just more division and frankly insulting to those democrats who voted for Obama and Clinton in those states.
Now onto the argument the Clinton camp is making that Michigan and Florida should be counted. I agree, but both Clinton and Obama have to get delegates not just Clinton, which is her camp's objective. The DNC better not try something, because that will ensure a McCain presidency.
I am happy for Obama. He is on his way to making history. His message of change has been overlooked as being simple. But it has been quite effective.
I found these clips that speak to what is going on in this country. Change is here and it's not going away...enjoy
