The Bush administration continues its stellar protection of the American consumer. Pet food that kills, toys made with lead and more. It took a video from an employee to get this administration enforce rules against sending sick cattle to the slaughter. Now this:

A company wants to test all of its animals for mad cow disease. Once again, the Bush administration says no. No, you can't do it! Why? Well, then that company could advertise that they test all of their animals. Consumers might buy their meat. We can't have that! So the other meat packers whine to the USDA. Oh, please, Uncle Dickie, tell George that it's not fair, it's just not fair.
American consumers deserve so much better. I'm still waiting for someone other than Keith Obermann or Jon Stewart to comment on this kind of nonsense.
I'm not aware of any American dying from mad cow disease so far. Still, I guess that's what it will take.
I'm ready for Americans to stand up to both parties and say "Enough! No more corporate socialism." If individual Americans are expected to brave it alone, then corporations should not be crying to Uncle Sam to protect them from having to protect us!
