I never really watched Beavis and Butthead back in the day. Probably had/has something to do with the fact that I don't have a TeeVee.
But I do remember watching it on occasion over at friends' houses, so that I have a vague idea of who was who.
Anyway, Beavis was the blond guy (I googled it just to make sure). And he liked violence. He liked killing things. He liked fire. And while I don't KNOW this, I think he said "kick ass" a lot.
Well, now we have retired Lt. Gen. Ricardo S. Sanchez, who used to command the troops in Iraq, informing us that, yup, for the last 7 years, we've had Beavis in the White House.
To the kick ass jump.
Over at HuffPo, they've got a nice synopsis of Lt. Gen. Ricardo S. Sanchez's memoir.
Their take on it is that it has been (unfortunately) obscured by the whole McClellan thing. I suppose that the MSM can only handle one President skewering memoir at a time.
If the rest of the book plays out like this little peek, one can only hope that it gets some more traction soon.
Special attention to be paid to the final 3 paragraphs, where Sanchez replays in all its glory, Bush's take and grand moral leadership on the killing of the 4 contractors.
Imagine for a moment, a couple of 12 year old boys, ramped up on RedBull and a Rambo movie, and you get this.
"Kick ass!" he quotes the president as saying. "If somebody tries to stop the march to democracy, we will seek them out and kill them! We must be tougher than hell! This Vietnam stuff, this is not even close. It is a mind-set. We can't send that message. It's an excuse to prepare us for withdrawal."
"There is a series of moments and this is one of them. Our will is being tested, but we are resolute. We have a better way. Stay strong! Stay the course! Kill them! Be confident! Prevail! We are going to wipe them out! We are not blinking!"
A White House spokesman had no comment.
Uuuuhhhh, yeah.
Kick ass.
Thanks Beavis.
