State Rep. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, a Missouri Superdelegate will announce her support for Senator Barack Obama's run for president today according to Jo Mannies at St. Louis Today.
It seems that the decision did not come easy
She said she privately had shifted between Clinton and Obama for months. But in the end, the deciding factor was the enthusiasm that Obama has generated among young people and unaligned independents, said Chappelle-Nadal.
At 33, she is the state's youngest superdelegate.
"This is a year that the mere existence of a single candidate, Barack Obama, has inspired people in my district to believe in the greater good," Chappelle-Nadal said.
Assuming Obama gets half of the day's pledged delegates, that would leave him about 25 delegates away from the finish line. And with this announcement, make that 24, and counting... down...
UPDATE: Michigan superdelegate, Joyce Lalonde, endorses Barack Obama. (Michigans delegates, including supers counting for one-half votes)
UPDATE II: There is another diary counting down the delegates for an Obama win and BoBo22020 is doing a good job at keeping track of today's supers. I suggest you unrec this one and move over to that one.
