According to the latest Rasmussen poll, Bush's current approval rating is 32%. While this is near the lowest of his presidency, and one of the lowest approval ratings of any president since they've been recording approval ratings, one astonishing fact hits me in the face: one American in three still thinks this man is doing a good job!!!
Take a look around you, folks. Look at the two people closest to you. Statistically, one of you three approves of Bush's job performance. Since that's not you, it's one of the other two clowns.
What in the name of all that is decent are these people thinking????
So I got to thinking, what exactly would Bush have to do for them to think he's a bad President? What act would finally convince them that he has no clue, and he is a danger to our way of life?
Here's a partial list of stuff he's actually done, that hasn't convinced a third of Americans that he's just plain god-awful:
- Started an offensive war
- Lied about the reasons for the war
- Ignored any intelligence that did not fit with his preconceived notions
- Wiretapped American citizens without a warrant
- Presided over the worst economic crisis of the last 20 years
- Gave us $4 a gallon gasoline
-Presided over a mortage crisis where millions of Americans are facing foreclosure
- Signed bills into law, with "signing statements" that lay out the parts of the law he's planning to ignore
- Ignored the Geneva Conventions
- Tortured prisoners
- Politicized the office of the Attorney General
And the list could go on! So what, pray tell, would this man have to do, in order to convince that one-third of Americans that he's a bad President?
