With the FISA capitulation and after watching John Yoo and David Addington make a mockery of testifying to Congress, I really wonder if the Democratic Party will take on the hard issues of law that face our country.
However, I know that Senator Russ Feingold will take on the hard issues of law that face our country and that is why he needs to be our next Attorney General.
Please indulge me in the following thought experiment: What if Senator Russ Feingold was our next Attorney General?
- The American public will finally have a true accounting of the domestic spying that has occurred.
- The American public will finally have a true accounting of the Department of Justice's hiring practices under former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
- The American public will finally have a true accounting of what happened when President Bush was advised by the Department of Justice that they could not certify the legality of his electronic surveillance program and Andrew Card and Alberto Gonzales visited an incapacitated Attorney General John Ashcroft.
What if?
