Phew, that was the best title I ever wrote. I should rest for a moment and catch my breath, but I am going to push on.
Where to start? I wish this was about how to title diaries in such a way as to win friends and influence loose women, but it's not.
Instead, what I'll be offering up today is a look at a project that I finished this morning. A video.
It is similar to some other work of mine you may have seen (hey you, stop laughing, I'm standing right here)...
The original title for this diary was going to be 'Not McSame' or some other counter-intuitive play on words that would have been more relevant to the video than the title up above, but I felt like shooting for the stars.
Without going too far into explaining a short one minute video (you can just watch it), I'll say that there is quite a bit of text in it, and it moves pretty fast. In a sense then, it is not a passive viewing experience, you'll have to pay attention and exercise them eyeballs unless you want to come away saying 'dude I totally don't understand'.
The subject of this ad/animation is foreign policy, and it highlights a few things that McCain has said in the past few months... at the same time, it tries to get to a more submerged dynamic where McCain is making all these rookie mistakes in spite of his supposed 'cred', when one might have expected such mistakes from our fine young Democratic nominee (no such luck for the GOP this year folks, we have a first rate candidate).
It's a contrast piece, and it inevitably comes back around to judgment...
I would put in all kinds of linky links and bold type and blockquotes and stuff, but I'm pretty exhausted, so you guys get a fresh video without me trying to pretend like I'm a writer. Win win, right?
Hope you like it. Feel free to tell me in the comments if you have any thoughts, or encouragement, or criticism, or dirty jokes.
