It was a long and hard fought race, and now that the primary season has come to an end, it is time for us to take a deep breath, and offer congratulations to Senator Clinton, for a hard fought race.
The debate is fading. The talking points are becoming fewer. The tone and rhetoric is slowing down. I congratulate Senator Clinton on a hard fought race, and accomplishing what no female candidate has ever accomplished before. We will all remember this primary, as long as we live.
I understand that the media can only talk about whether or not Senator Clinton should be the VP, and I'm seeing reactionary diaries to that. "No, it's the worst idea, ever!", etc., etc.
This, to me, is very simple. We have a nominee. As such, Americans have trusted his judgement thus far, enough to make him the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.
I trust his judgement, going forward. I trust his judgement to decide what the best role is for Hillary Clinton in his government. Be it as his running mate, head of health care, nominee to the Supreme Court, or any of a number of other roles that have been rumored to death.
Whatever our next President, Barack Obama, decides, will be what he believes is best for our country. I trust that judgement, and I hope you do, too.
I trust Senator Clinton, whatever her imminent role is, to work hard for the American people.
The time for bickering and bashing is past. We must now look forward to the general election, and defeating John McCain.
Senator Obama has a lot of decisions ahead, the role Senator Clinton would serve in his administration is just one of many. Whatever he decides, I will support his decision.
I hope you will, too.
