We all shook our heads at "Operation Chaos" and wondered (without much evidence) what fraction of the Texas, Ohio, or Indiana vote for Clinton was Republicans just trying to mess with our heads. After all, they had sixteen years of ammunition about Clinton (including a movie) "in the can."
But now, MSM is buying the line that there are significant numbers of ardent Clinton fans who are organizing for McCain. I wondered how much research has actually been done to find out if this is the real deal--or just an extension of Operation Chaos.
So I'm asking community members to take a minute and research the folks getting the attention.
Case #1: Ed Hale of Wellington, Texas--Has never even donated to Clinton. But now he's an "ardent supporter" His last recorded contributions seem to have been for the Green Party in 2004. Now, why is this farmer suddenly getting politically active? Or is he just a body that the Republicans are using? (Caution, Googlers: There's a very progressive Ed Hale in New York.)
And then there's Reba Shimansky, who by her own admission is
Shimansky acknowledged that she's been on something of a roll recently, but she's still in pursuit of the letter writer's Holy Grail: an appearance in the Times.
While there's a good record of her writing to defend Clintons from the "right wing spin machine" she was an ardent Chuck Hagel supporter not too far back. Her only claims to fame seem to be that she has a pretty high Google hit quotient and Mark Halperin finds her worth quoting. Again MSM is creating "famous people" and significant movements.
And of course there is "Harriet Christian," who by the admission of reporters there was egged on to go into her rant--and for her efforts got interviewed on Fox.
So I'd just like to open a bit of discussion. Who is actually leading this "movement?" Can the voices that are being quoted in the MSM actually be authenticated as Democrats? Or are they being used to create a faux (pronounced "Fox") movement?
