My July/August 2008 AARP Bulletin just arrived. In a timely Opinion Section/book excerpt, Andrew Yarrow writes about the explosion of public debt during the Bush years. Just above Yarrow's piece is Lee Iacocca's cry for leadership in Washington.
Yarrow explains in concrete terms the amount of debt our government has amassed - half of that massive debt during the Bush administration. (Let's trust the Decider with the check book?) A half a million dollars for every American household.
Iacocca wants specifics from the candidates AND he wants to know who is going to be on their teams if they're elected.
So, would Dr. Phil Gramm be McCain's Secretary of Treasury? Would Rev. Hagee be the liaison for faith-based programs? Could McCain recycle Dick Cheney's knowledge and expertise in the Dept. of Energy or Justice?
