I'll try to keep this one short. I've got a lot on my mind.
Over the past five or more years since DailyKos was started, there's been many times when we've all done so much to make a real difference. The efforts to prevent telecom immunity from passing is the most recent example of this. And it was a big letdown.
However, every single one of you did your best to stop this thing. Our efforts did not go unnoticed either - the constant delays were a clear indication of this. So what do we do now? Everything we can.
We've had many disappointing results to our efforts since this website was founded over five years ago. How hard did we work in 2004, with nowhere near the numbers we have today? And how hard did we work in 2006 to achieve that victory?
Yes I realize like many of us that Congress has not met our expectations of them, nor their own promises. I realize that our presidential candidates, whether you were for Hillary or for Obama or someone else, have not and do not fully meet our expectations. To me, that's an even bigger reason to keep pushing them until they all do so. No one said that change was instant. And no major political or social movement from, of and by the people can reach its goals in one election either.
We will get there, we will succeed and take back our country. Hang in there with me, and I'll hang in there with all of you.
