Is Wes Clark out of the running for VP? Did his "gaffe" about McSame's military service doom his chances?
That's certainly the way it would appear. When the punditry speaks of VPs, I generally hear only a few names. We get to obligatory mentions of Hillary as VP...but, of course, that is mostly for ratings and interesting speculation.
We hear Biden and Reed and Rendell and Bayh and even Hagel. But we never hear any more mentions of the best possible choice: Wes Clark.
You know, I started out a Webb guy. But, after seeing Clark take McCain to task over his military experience, I switched to Clark. He brings so much to the table:
Military
Southern Appeal
Good team-player
Former Clinton supporter
Nat'l Security
Experience running for office
Obama and Clark could tag-team McCain---Obama hits him on the economy in Ohio one day, Clark hits him on foreign policy in Virginia the next.
And, after winning the White House, Clark could really help Obama govern by giving him great advice on two of Obama's greatest challenges: the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Obama/Clark is my dream ticket but, alas, it seems as though the wind has gone out of it's sails. It's frustrating.
What do you think? Is Clark done?
