When this political season is done, if not before, there are some phrases which have crept into our discourse, which should be terminated with extreme prejudice.
I have a few to start with.
- <x> threw <y> under the bus
- <x> was against <y> before he was for it, or vice versa
- flip-flop
more:
- homeland
- hard-working
- surge
- most liberal <x> in history
- in the tank for <x>
- Sister Souljah Moment
- slap in the face
- no quarter
- played the <x> card
- My Fellow Americans
I'm sure there are many more which should be, er, discarded.
