On today's Today Show:
After leading with the 911 call from the grandmother of the missing toddler in Florida, they 2nd story was billed thusly:
The Big Stage
Barack Obama attracts a crowd of 200,000 in Germany, but why are some members of the U.S. Military not happy with his visit?
Huh?
That was the first I heard of any "US Military" unhappiness, so I stuck with the show through the 10 minute story about the grandmother and the interview with said grandma.
Then Andrea Mitchell from Berlin, where she spent about a minute on the speech, ending with an allusion to the Pentagon not allowing Obama to visit injured troops in Germany because it was part of the "political leg" of his trip. And, of course this was followed with equal time of McCain at the Sausage House.
That was it.
Since I've seen nothing on this anywhere else today, perhaps I'm missing something, but the tease headline seemed wildly offbase IMHO. 12 words dedicated to the story, 14 words in a spurious qualifier...
Man, the GOP is very very very good at "playing the refs."
