Oh, the moaning and beating-of-chests I am hearing from the wingnuts I work with.
I was bludgeoned with the Hillary Hate for a good 8 years by one of them. Up until 2008 [er, 2006, correction], when I turned the tables and gave him a couple of days' worth of his own medicine when the Criminal Party lost the Congressional elections. Two days was all I could manage due to this nagging sense of humanity that he doesn't have to deal with.
The other wingnut, whom I and another coworker have more or less managed to convince that it is rude and unseemly to talk politics in the office, just has the occasional outburst and is therefore more tolerable. So he says to me today,"McCain should pick Jeb Bush for VP." I replied, "Yes, well, he was certainly well-liked here in Florida", trying to keep it civil. "I mean," he said, "McCain seems to be intent on losing so why not another Bush, because there will never be another Bush in the White House." "Oh", I said, "I didn't realize you were joking".
Just then the other one popped in and hearing it, said, "I think he should pick the governor of Alaska". Or somesuch, I hadn't heard the name. I said, "Gosh, I was kind of hoping he'd pick Lieberman or Crist". Tee hee. Then he said, "Mc Cain won't even campaign on weekends. Well, Obama is going to buy the election anyway, he's got 300 million dollars!" "Yeah," said the other, sadly. Since I try not to engage nuts in the sincere belief that it does no good, I did not tell them who gave Obama the dough.
So I say to Kossacks, keep up the good work. Know that your work and donations are having the desired effect.
