My first diary, so please be gentle. Had to write something when i read yahoo front page about Senator Clinton's name being entered as a nominee and a roll taken during the convention
"as an act of unity"
from yahoo:
Democrats will officially nominate Obama at the convention but the state delegations will do a traditional role call for his vanquished opponent as well.
The arrangement — which the rivals-turned-allies agreed to after weeks of negotiations — is intended to help the Democratic Party heal after a bruising primary while mollifying still-disgruntled Clinton backers and acknowledging the former first lady's groundbreaking presidential run.
Now im naive and totally not politcally saavy, heck i cant spell very well, as you may have noticed but id like an explanation of what exactly is a united party?
Is negotiating the terms that someone will support you really unifying?
Is forcing the convention to vote for or against you unifying?
Is having more than one nominee at the convention unifying?
Is Senator Clinton really interested in unifying anything, im unsure what kind of crazyness this is. She should support Obama or dont support Obama, this negotiated surrender is insulting and damaging.
Sorry if my diary/rant is amateur its my first one. I'll take it down if its un-unifying.
