All I know for sure is that it won't be Biden. There's always a false buzz around some old, tired name. Remember the NY Post reported that it was going to be Kerry-Gephardt last time around.
I think Biden was the perfect dupe because he SO got the Irish up among true progressives. So anyone will seem better than he.
So who will it be? Allow me to pull that name out of my wazoo. (With probabilities.)
- Sebelius (45%) She would be the right choice. She's got a good record in a red state. Her dad was the Governor of Ohio and she will unite any last few strands of Clinton dissent.
- Daschle (30%) I think he compliments Obama very well. But he wants to be HHS and that's understandable. But I still think Obama can sell him on the offer.
- Bayh (15%) One nagging thought. We, the left-wing of this party, won the primaries. So they, the DLC, might get the #2 spot. That's counter-inuitive on some level, but I think it has a ring of truth.
- Kaine (5%) I don't understand why Kos is so down on this guy. I think he would be a good President...some day. But half a term as Governor means that our ticket will have two comparatively thin resumes.
- Hillary (3%) Because she just won't go away....I worry about this a lot more than Biden.
- The Field (2%) I personally think Wes Clark would be a terrible choice, but it wouldn't totally shock me.
