Opps the Republicans are going to do it again... Blame the Democrats for their own prior mistakes and not compromise with reason....
The sad part is the American public is too misinformed/stupid/self-absorbed to get it or care.
I find the hypocrisy astounding in Washington these days. The idea that the Democrats are to blame for the rising fuel prices, and that they refuse to do anything about it is laughable on its face. The problem is polls are showing the "American" public is buying it. They want anything that makes their life better and don't want to hear the facts. If you can't sum it up into a 30 second sound byte then it doesn't count.
The little "trick" the Republicans pulled yesterday is childish, the fact that they will not compromise on anything to do with energy unless they get exactly what they want kind of doesn't make it a compromise anymore. They always do this? They are so stupid and naive they believe this will actually help energy prices. The problem is we could have done something about this in the 70's and 80's. Carter tried, and the Republicans stupidity blocked it. Now its all the democrats fault (Insert crying noises).
Ignoring the fact that oil production isn't instantaneous and it is a world wide market where we get most of our oil from Canada and Mexico (Not the middle east) Americans are buying it hook line and sinker, the ignorance is astounding, the gimme gimme attitude of this country is truly amazing. Most of the people that are worried about reducing our dependence on foreign oil couldn't even find Saudi Arabia or Iran on a map. Yet their vote counts as much as mine. They will buy it and the Republicans will get away with their lies again. Something should have been done before I was born but it wasn't, because of the greed of this country.
American's will claim they want to hear about the issues, that they don't like negative campaigning. I hate to point out to these people that negative campaigning does work, and it has worked since the inception of our democracy. What we watch today is no different than a hundred years ago... Now we thank GOD have Chris Mathews and Sean Hannity to beat it to death and make a mockery out of our system. What can we do in the face of such stupidity. Where people honestly believe Obama was playing the "race card". My question is how is it ok for McCain to defend himself against Gen. Clark's comments, by referring to himself as a "war hero", yet when Obama defends himself against attacks on his character and his race (Granted a lot have not come from McCain) without referencing who he is? McCain can reference who he is but Obama cannot?
The stupidity and arrogance I confront every day confounds me and I live in a Deep Blue state. My heart goes out to you in the Deep Red states.
I sit here watching Headline News in utter awe of how simplified things can be made. When someone articulates a reasonable line of thinking they are labeled as wanting things both ways. Isn't that what compromise is? However Americans buy it hook line and sinker, What do we do in the face of such stupidity?
Sorry for the rant I just have gotten fed up with people and Cable News.
