Just back from the watering hole - yes I imbibed. I'm old school on barstool politics - if you want to know what Joe-6pack thinks, pull up a stool and talk to him.
I do what I can to make myself clear in barstool politics. There are 2 basic rules: Neither one of us can change a gawd-damned thing. I honestly enjoy people who see things differently than me. Some don't really get that, but in all honesty, most do. So it was with some surprise, that one of my republican friends greeted me with "I'm moving to Australia - McCain sucks as bad as that nigger" Rough language, but such is barstool politics.
Naturally, I voiced my support for 'that nigger' and agreed that McCain is an idiot.
So what's my point? I'm not sure I have one, as it struck me that there is such a monumental sea change in the works, that it's too broad to even have a 'point'. There is a potential tidal wave out there, folks. The chattering class may be very excited about the great maverick, but it doesn't seem to be filtering down to the barstool.
Has this legion of ditto-heads seen the light? I'd have to say no. Do they know something is seriously wrong with what they've been fed? I'd have to say yes. We're getting there. And it's going to be good.
