brownsox wrote a great post on the WA-08 primary results, but glossed over the party breakdown.
Digging through the King County election results secretary of state's webpage, we can get a breakdown of the results.
Here are the raw results:
United States Representative Congressional District No. 8
Boleslaw (John) Orlinski | States No Party Preference | 880 | 1.00% |
Richard Todd | States No Party Preference | 1310 | 1.50% |
James E. Vaughn | Prefers Democratic Party | 3151 | 3.60% |
Dave Reichert | Prefers Republican Party | 41876 | 47.82% |
Keith Arnold | Prefers Democratic Party | 1223 | 1.40% |
Darcy Burner | Prefers Democratic Party | 39124 | 44.68% |
We can group the votes by party preference. I'm going to guess that those who voted for Boleslaw Orlinski will vote for Burner in the general election. Looking at Orlinski's website, he shares much of the same platform as the Democratic party (health care, education, war in Iraq, etc.) I have no clue where the votes for Richard Todd are going to end up. Probably to the candidate who WRITES WITH THE MOST CAPSLOCK (check out his website to see what I mean).
United States Representative Congressional District No. 8
Prefers Republican Party | 41876 | 47.82% |
Prefers Democratic Party | 44378 | 50.68% |
As you can see, Burner has a slight lead, assuming she can pull in all of the other Democrat's votes and some of the independant's. She needs all the support we can muster up fo her!
(These add up to 98.5% since I didn't know what to do with Todd's 1.5% points...hopefully they'll mostly go to Burner!)
