(So I'm not going to take credit for this idea - I actually lifted it from an OpenLeft comment - but I think it's good enough to make into its own diary and maybe get to the eyes of someone who can make this happen.)
Remember those Purple Heart band-aids back in the 2004 GOP convention? Weren't they just the most annoying thing ever?
But the thing was: people remembered them. It was an image that stuck in people's minds during the whole Swift Boat crap and make things that much worse.
Well, now it looks like we have a candidate in some similar trouble over a pretty big gaffe he made today, so maybe it's time to return the favor.
Why not hand out green Monopoly houses at the convention?
We can wave them around every time one of the speakers makes a reference to the gaffe. Of course, they will have to be bigger than actual Monopoly houses to enhance the visual. But this is the kind of stunt that gets attention, reinforces a narrative, and actually makes the candidate into a joke.
Any ideas on how to make this reality?
