Ben Smith brings us Barack Obama's pushback to Republican attempts to tie him to Ayers:
Republicans attack Obama by associating him to Ayers, who committed crimes when Obama was just 8 years old. The Obama camp hits back painting McCain as living in the sixties (read: John McCain is really old), hits him for the Iraq war (read: John McCain doesn't agree with the majority of Americans on Iraq), and slams him on the economy (read: John McCain isn't better than Bush for your wallet). In short, the ad reinforces two themes that are clearly becoming the core of Obama's strategy: pointing out that McCain is out of touch and pointing out McCain is no better than President Bush for this country. All in all, a brilliant response.
